I got the job!

I start my mornings with a routine that mentally and spiritually aligns with the day's purpose and plan. As part of that routine, I get up, start my coffee, and turn on something from a pastor, administering a spiritual teaching that can continue getting me into the head and heart space I’m seeking.

Last night, I was wrapping things up from the exploration and revelation of what God had shared with me during the day. After settling my emotions from my interview with God, I wanted to sit and reflect. I humbly asked him to confirm the path he has paved for me. Asking if this opportunity was for me, may he show me and allow me to hear from him that this was indeed the direction to go. I was asking him to say it to me one more time so that I could make sure I heard him correctly. I needed to be certain I was hearing his desire and not mine.

There’s an opportunity that I was fortunate to come across yesterday that would allow me to bring in a stream of income, and serve my purpose, and my desire to assist people with mental wellness. It could also rejuvenate my central nervous system and bolster my mental wellness. Being obedient and submitting to God, I wanted to confirm this was from him. Not being in my flesh, but walking it out as something he has presented to me. I said a prayer and believed that he would show me either way. I went to sleep, and that was

Nate Johnson is a Pastor who has messages on YouTube. He hasn’t been on in a little bit. Today he showed up in my YouTube feed as the first thing. I was so excited as I have always enjoyed his messages and preaching. I chose to listen and it spoke right to my heart! Everything that I had prayed for last night was stated in this message. I knew it was from God because he specifically used only the words that I would know. That’s how I believe the Lord customizes and speaks directly to me. I knew without a shadow of a doubt that the message was directed toward me.

In this message, one of the first things Nate spoke about was being in a new season- “there will be healthcare workers called with a new mantle”. He specifically stated that nurses will be called to have this new mantle. Then he continued by saying “You’re going hear me say this a lot, but this is part of the new mantle in this season”. He went on to say that we will be assisting people with mental health. The third thing that resonated with me is when he said “In this season it’s time for David’s to arise”.

This spotlighted my heart's desire and identified where I am, how I feel, and what my assignment is. God has called me and equipped me for such a time as this. I’m not broken, I’m chosen. Therefore, I’m choosing to walk in faith to accept my mantle. As I evaluated this message and discussed it with God, I heard him say “You got the job”! I started laughing and said, what do you mean? And he replied; “Remember yesterday was the job interview I made you the offer, and you accepted, which means you got the job”! I’m so delighted. What was once a wish & a dream, and a far-off fantasy has now become a reality.

This faith walk will be one step at a time, one moment at a time. Last night I had so many “What if” questions. God said not to worry about it. Let it go. Similar to when you start a new job, you can’t think about all the things that are ahead in the new career. You take it one step at a time. Little by little it will progress.

The first thing to do is to understand the qualifications for the position. Then the interview. Finally, the job offer is extended. Next is the orientation and training. The same anticipation, excitement, and apprehension of the first day on the job is true for this new mantle. At first, it will be like new baby deer legs. As time goes on (with patience, consistency, and persistence) the muscles will grow, and the skill, and ability will be developed. Uncharted territory may bring about apprehension. However, endorsing this new mantle as a job assignment that is to be completed. It’s time to step outside of self and focus on God. To walk out the plan and purpose that he has. Do the work. So many people will benefit from this.

It is an exciting time and I am excited to be a part of what God has planned this side of Heaven. I’m excited for the healing of others- in their mind, body, and spirit. I’m excited for a wave of mental health wellness to come onto the scene for people. Through their healing process and success, they will have a positive ripple effect on their families and out to communities and beyond. And God chose to use me, as part of the bigger picture, to make it happen. I got the job!
